The Lasallian Foundation supports projects throughout the Asia-Pacific region that provide poor and disadvantaged children an opportunity to break the poverty cycle.
The Foundation was established in 2004 by the De La Salle Brothers of Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea, to help meet the growing needs of poor children throughout the region.
Over many years, the De La Salle Brothers and committed lay partners have funded and established innovative projects across Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, India, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and Pakistan.
The majority of projects funded are operated by local De La Salle Brothers and lay partners in the target countries. All projects are non-denominational and are staffed by people from all faith backgrounds. The faith traditions of all beneficiaries are respected and the projects do not evangelise.
Typical projects include:
- primary and secondary school education
- vocational training, tuition centres and youth development programs
- residential care for orphaned, abandoned, or HIV affected boys and girls
- working children’s programs
- day care centres
- empowerment and human rights programs for women, children, the poor and the disabled
- micro-credit schemes for self-help groups
All projects are created, initiated, developed and implemented by local agencies on the ground in consultation with the beneficiaries. The Foundation provides funding and capacity building support to the local agencies.
The Foundation also maintains a significant community education program with engagements at 17 De La Salle schools in Australia and New Zealand, and 4,000 newsletters reaching more than 17,000 individuals nationally.
The Lasallian Foundation is an approved overseas aid foundation in Australia and has Deductible Gift Registrant status. The Foundation raises funds through child sponsorship, major donations and fundraising by De La Salle Schools. It also receives an annual operational grant from the De La Salle Brothers District that covers all administrative costs including salaries.
This allows 100% of your donations to go to our overseas projects.

The Heart Foundation has been Australia's leading voice on heart health since 1959. The Heart Foundation saves lives and improves health through funding world-class cardiovascular research, guidelines for health professionals, informing the public and assisting people with cardiovascular disease.
While the work over the past five decades has helped reduce the number of deaths, cardiovascular disease (heart, stroke and blood vessel disease) remains one of Australia’s most devastating health problems. Each year, almost 46,000 Australians die from cardiovascular disease - that's one Australian dying every 10 minutes.
As a charity, the Heart Foundation relies on donations and gifts in Wills to continue its lifesaving research, education and health promotion work. For further information visit www.heartfoundation.org.au or call 1300 55 02 82.

The Exodus Foundation was founded by Reverend Bill Crews, Superintendent of the Uniting church Ashfield Parish Mission, in 1989. It exists to provide quality welfare, healthcare and education services to the needy.
The Loaves and Fishes Restaurant, is a soup kitchen which provides 800 free meals a day to our clients. It is a venue which allows us to engage clients and stream them to services appropriate to their immediate needs, with a view to integrating them back into mainstream society.
At Exodus, we are trying to break the poverty cycle. That is why we run the MULTiLit (Making Up for Lost Time in Literacy) and MiniLit programs for primary school children. The MULTiLit program caters for children in years 5 & 6, who have slipped behind in their literacy skill, in some cases by 4 years. In six months the intensive course brings many of them up to par with their peers, allowing them to achieve their learning potential in mainstream schooling.
MiniLit, "Meeting Initial Needs in Literacy" is a similar program designed for children in years 1 to 3.
Our last chance Youth Program, for teenagers aged 15 to 19, teaches living skills, and facilitates year 10 for youths that through circumstances beyond their control, have not been able to achieve at school. The Youth program runs over two years, and produces people who are employable and equipped to choose a path for life.
The Exodus Foundation also has a small scale disaster relief operation for emergencies in Australia and overseas. We also facilitate educational opportunities in Asia and are looking to do the same in South Africa and Zimbabwe.

Improving the mental health and wellbeing of young Australians ... More >>
Improving the mental health and wellbeing of young Australians.
The Inspire Foundation was established in 1996 in direct response to Australia's then escalating rates of youth suicide. We combine technology with the direct involvement of young people to deliver innovative and practical online programs that prevent youth suicide and improve young people's mental health and wellbeing.
Our mission is to help millions of young people lead happier lives.
Inspire innovatively uses technology to reach young people aged 14-25 through two national programs:
www.reachout.com offers information, support and resources to help young people improve their understanding of mental health issues, develop resilience, and increase their coping skills and help-seeking behaviour.
www.actnow.com.au connects young people with opportunities to learn more about their world and take action on the social issues they care about.
Our 2020 vision is to make a global contribution to young people's mental health and wellbeing, with every young Australian knowing, trusting and using Inspire's programs when they need to. To achieve our vision we are building an Inspire community of young people, professionals, families, donors, teachers and supporters who care deeply for young people and their wellbeing.
Thank you!
