We ensure that your personal information is protected until such time as you choose to disclose it to suppliers or other third parties.

Collection and use of your information

The types of information we collect about you:

1 Private information.

If you represent a funeral home, a charity or other potential strategic partner we request your name and email address so that we can contact you.
If you register with us in order to establish a Lifebook then we request your name and email address so that we can establish your account.
If you register with us in order to contribute to an existing Lifebook then we request your name and email address to enable you to access the Lifebook.
If you visit our website we record information which remains anonymous such as your browser, date, time and pages accessed for statistical purposes.
Information that we obtain from you in accordance with paragraph (a) will never be disclosed, rented, exchanged or sold to any third party, or disclosed on the Living Years website except as expressly permitted by you, and will only be accessed by the persons referred to in subparagraph (c) hereof.
You acknowledge and consent that the only other persons who may have access to your first name and email address are:

our staff;

our web designer for the purposes of maintenance services for our website; and

other third parties as required by law.

2 Messages to Living Years Support Staff.

Messages you send to our support staff via our Contact Us facility are private and are only viewed by our support staff.

3 Usage tracking.

We may track user traffic patterns throughout our website. However we do not correlate this information with data about individual users.

We use tracking information to determine which areas of our site users like and don't like based on traffic to those areas. We do not track what individual users read, but rather how well each page performs overall. This helps us to continue to build a better service for you. We use your IP address (the series of numbers associated with your individual computer) to help us maintain the Living Years website and identify problems with our server. Your IP address does not disclose any personally revealing information about you. See the section on 'Cookies' below.

We do not:

rent, sell, exchange or in any way provide personally identifiable information to any third party;
share information about individual users with any third party except to comply with applicable law or valid legal process;
collect information for commercial marketing.

Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

We keep the information you have given us until such time as you request us to delete it or for as long as we are required to by law, which ever is the longer period.
