The Prince Charles Hospital Foundation supports medical research conducted at, or in conjuction with, The Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane, primarily heart and lung diseases, critical care, orthopaedics, mental health and general medicine. Research funded includes development of a vaccine for rheumatic fever, the BiVACOR artificial heart, mesothelioma and lung cancer treatments and detection, early detection for osteoarthritis and heart and lung transplant research.
