Ronald McDonald House Mater is a not-for-profit organisation that provides low cost accommodation to families from regional Queensland, inter state and over seas, who have seriously ill children receiving treatment at the Mater Children's hospital.

 Our Mission Statement is: 

To be a caring and supportive ‘Home away from Home’ for families with seriously ill children receiving treatment at the Mater Children’s Hospital and the Mater Mother’s Hospital

By providing accommodation close to the Mater Children’s Hospital, both children and parents are comforted by knowing they are not far away from each other. This often results with a speedier recovery.

The House is located within the Mater Hospital complex and accommodates up to twenty one families per night in ensuited rooms.

House policy ensures priority is given to families with children who require ongoing treatment for serious illnesses at the Mater Children’s Hospital and to families of seriously ill or premature babies receiving care in the nurseries of the Mater Mother's Hospital.
