The Lions Medical Research Foundation was formed in 1966 to provide seed funding to medical researchers in Queensland and Nth New South Wales. Over the last 40 years, fundraising has occurred to successfully fund notable medical researchers such as: Prof. Ian Frazer, Prof. Paul Colditz, Prof. Michael Whittaker and recent medical researchers as Dr. Ingrid Hickman, Dr. Kathryn Buller, Dr. Gethin Thomas and Dr. Christine Staatz.The Foundation's main fundraiser is the Lions Medical Research Personality Quest, formerly Lions Miss Personality Quest. This Quest has, since 1969, raised millions of dollars which has gone directly to medical researchers. Each donation dollar helps save a life. Our call is: "The research of today could be the cure of tomorrow".
