The Arrow Bone Marrow Transplant Foundation (Arrow) funds research into leukaemia and other diseases treatable by bone marrow and adult stem cell transplantation whilst providing patient support and information services including: accommodation, patient information guides and seminars, assistance with travel costs and a free wig library available to all cancer patients experiencing hair loss through chemotherapy. Arrow also provides funding for a Research Scientist within the Blood Diseases and Cancer Unit at St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney. Through a scholarship programme, Arrow is supporting PhD students conducting projects on leukaemia and stem cell research and also party finances the Australasian Bone Marrow Transplant Recipient Registry. Scholarships are also provided for nursing professionals to futher their education through courses offered by the College of Nursing in Chemotherapy Practice and Stem Cell Transplantation.
